10:45PM - Suburban performance art
You'd think my neighbors had never seen a man in his front yard grinning like a maniac and swinging an axe around for two hours.
On the other hand, I'm starting to see some appeal to this 'yardwork' thing. Plus... firewood!
7:55PM
Wes Anderson movies are so beautiful and so sad.
Work tonight until 2:30AM, then I have work at 7:30AM tomorrow.
It'll be interesting.
Life is this string of events I want to wring the poetry from.
7:56PM - C-Realm Firday!
"C" stands for consciousness
Episode 97: Molecules and Messengers
In this episode, KMO creates an audio mash-up of material taken (with permission) from the radio documentary 'In Search of the Divine Vegetal' and previous episodes of the C-Realm Podcast to address the question of whether First World spiritual seekers are stealing or corrupting the spiritual traditions of the Two Thirds World. Voices heard include: Dennis McKenna, Jeremy Narby, and A. Andrew Gonzalez.
If you will be attending the 4th International Amazonian Shamanism Conference in Iquitos because you learned about it or decided to attend because of what you heard on the C-Realm Podcast, please write to Alan Shoemaker and let him know so that I will get credit for your attendance.
Alan's email address is sogadelalma (at) yahoo (dot) com .
Thank you.
12:23PM - Dambuster veterans reunite for the last time.
The video alone for this article is worth it.
Yes, war is terrible. The lancaster, compared to some bombers, is an ugly plane.... but a Lanc in flight is a beautiful thing to me.
*watches the video again*
Beautiful.

May 13th, 2008: Here's an experiment which could be pretty rad! I'm going to link to the Flickr images tagged "haylookit" here for the next few days, and maybe INDEFINITELY. If you have something you want thousands and thousands of like-minded strangers to see, try uploading it to Flickr and tagging it with "haylookit"! And if you want to see something that some stranger on the internet thought you'd like, click here!
UPDATE: Guys this is awesome.
5:00PM - daily bonus lol
Was browsing HMV today, some lady walked up and asked if I worked there. Must be the ponytail.
Reminds me the other day I was looking around the cathedral. When paying the entry fee (a sad thing, but keeping these olde buildings going costs a bomb), the lady behind the counter tried to offer me a student discount!
7:26AM - More Okafest shameless plugging...
Applegeeks Lite 303 (direct link to the comic if you don't happen to read it on Friday)
7:09AM - Whhhheeeeeee!
I just found XBMC, I found it because I was unhappy with Front Row.
Now exactly an ideal solution, but at least it doesn't put itself to sleep after a couple of songs (but still plays the music just fine, just not display... no power saver features are on and I haven't found any real documentation for it... silly Apple).
I'll play around with it some more to see how much I like it.
1:27AM
Hmm. Upon further consideration, the bus is looking like a better option after all.
I really ought to get this shit figured out.

7:58PM - ♥ ♥ ♥
Corey bought me a reel mower!!! I had been planning to pick one up but there was always other stuff to spend the $$$ on more urgently. IT IS AWESOME. Works beautifully, and is all at once less muss and fuss with stupid cords than our beat-up electric mower, less polluting and smelly than the gas mowers I categorically refuse to deal with, and way less noisy than either of the above. Woo!
1:32PM - hehe
I just noticed this on /.
Robot overlord reads Slashdot RSS feed, it adds itself to iTunes.
Neat.
7:34AM - t-rex was racist against taxi drivers a few years ago, but that's faded. he's forgotten it, so his w

8:11AM - Woo!
Solar power being tested by Enmax
Global morning news also just had a story on it.
Basically the home owner would rent solar panels from Enmax, all of the power generated goes towards the individual home and excess power gets credited back to the home owner (according to Global).
Should be rolled out by 2009.
12:08PM - Intriguing wee piece on the engagement of science and religion...
A different take from the 'atheists vs. mainstream monotheists' debate that has been popular of late! ... ;o)
The Neural Buddhists by David Brooks, New York Times, 13th May.

2:25AM - Helpful hints.
Way to go Chris. Meet a girl can't remember her name, but can't ask her what her name is after she just told you a few hours earlier, can barely form a cohesive sentence AND your voice starts cracking because you've been trying to talk over loud music all night. On top of that you're sweating like a pig because you just loaded a bunch of PA gear into your van.
Suave.
At least you know where she works.
